Welcome to Rovezzano B&B, a bed and breakfast and holiday home, located a few minutes from the historic center of Florence.
At the beginning of the last century stood a few kilometers from the city of Florence a small agglomeration of houses known as Rovezzano. At the center of a vast park was built the Renaissance villa of Rovezzano which was completely renovated by Baroness Fiorella Favard De L'Anglade during the second half of the nineteenth century.
In 1946 the Countess Maria Antonietta di Frassineto created the Tessitura di Rovezzano, to continue the ancient Florentine art of artisan production of fine furnishing fabrics.
The Tessitura di Rovezzano found its natural place in the agricultural outbuildings of Villa Favard, and in the bright lemon house was preserved the precious historical collection of fabrics. A testimony of the rural architectural heritage has thus been saved from degradation, or from pure and simple cancellation.

Explosion of the Chariot
Easter Sunday, Piazza del Duomo.
One of the most important events in Florence, the Scoppio del Carro dates back at least to about 400 years ago. An elaborate chariot built for the first time in 1622 in the shape of a tower and 2-3 floors high is pulled around the city by two white oxen adorned with garlands to the square, in the space between the Baptistery and the Cathedral. The wagon, well stocked with fireworks, waits for a rocket in the shape of a dove (symbolizing the Holy Spirit) that starts from the altar of the Cathedral to get to hit it, giving life to beautiful fireworks shows at the moment of impact. According to ancient tradition, fireworks that burst all together is a good sign for a rich harvest.

Behind Palazzo Pitti lies the wonderful Boboli Gardens. The Medici first took care of the arrangement, creating the model of Italian garden that became exemplary for many European courts. The vast green area divided in a regular way, is a real open-air museum, populated with ancient and Renaissance statues, adorned with caves, first of all the famous one made by Bernardo Buontalenti, and large fountains, such as that of Neptune and the Ocean. The successive Lorraine and Savoy dynasties further enriched the structure, expanding the boundaries that line the ancient city walls up to Porta Romana. Of remarkable visual suggestion is the terraced area where there is the eighteenth-century pavilion of the Kaffeehaus, a rare example of rococo architecture in Tuscany or the Limonaia, built by Zanobi del Rosso between 1777 and 1778. The visit to Boboli completes the visit to the Reggia di Pitti, of which it is an integral part, and allows you to fully grasp the spirit of court life and at the same time enjoy the experience of a garden that is always renewed while respecting its tradition.
The Uffizi Gallery is a state museum in Florence, which is part of the museum complex called the Uffizi Galleries and includes, in addition to the aforementioned gallery, the Vasari Corridor, the collections of Palazzo Pitti and the Boboli Gardens, which together constitute for quantity and quality of the works collected one of the most important museums in the world.

The Officina Profumo-Farmaceutica di Santa Maria Novella has its first roots in Florence, in 1221. In that same year the Dominican friars founded the convent of Santa Maria Novella and began to take care - among other things - of the garden. From that same garden we begin to develop a centuries-old experience in pharmacopoeia and natural preparations. Experience that in the following years expands to the universes of cosmetics, fragrances and wellness products.
The Museo Novecento is dedicated to the art of the twentieth and twenty-first centuries and offers a selection of works from the civic collections, which illustrate with a wide scope the Italian art of the first half of the twentieth century.

Around the tables of "il Latini" friendships are intertwined, the languages of the world are spoken, animated discussions are enjoyed and foods with an ancient flavor are enjoyed.
From this 'hole' (typical Florentine wine cellar housed in a basement and used as a restaurant) that occupies the basement of the sixteenth-century Palazzo Niccolini have passed characters such as Anthony Hopkins, Billy Joel, Justin Bieber, Kinstern Dunst, Andrea Bocelli and Fiorello in search of authentic Florentine cuisine. And in this corner of Florentine times they have been satisfied with simple and genuine ingredients, and traditional recipes among which stand out the artichoke flan, the ribollita, the pappardelle with wild boar sauce and the grilled steak. Particular signs: a privé with exit on the back…
In the heart of the historic center of Florence, in a period building, the restaurant offers a cuisine that rigorously interprets the ancient recipes of the most genuine Tuscan tradition. Specialties of the house are the unparalleled rigatoni served in the glass soup bowl and the inevitable sliced beef served on the stump.
Where do you eat good steak in Florence? Even before entering into the merits of the Florentine it is good to remember that this street of The Porcelain is the most literary address of the city. Here Piero Annigoni had his table across the kitchen and pulled the nuts on the glass in front of the cook when he looked into the dining room. In addition to the classic Florentine steak, among the cult dishes there is the artichoke pie and the butter chicken breast. All cooked on kitchen without stove, with wood embers.
One of the most historic and famous holes in the city. Open kitchen, rustic atmosphere representative of the highest Tuscan expression, on the walls posters that recall the history of the place, when the fiaccherai stopped here to drink a glass of wine and eat a bowl of tripe served on a sheet of newspaper. Today the owner and soul of the restaurant, Luciano Ghinassi, keeps the tradition alive by recording the full of reservations every night. There are many proposals on the menu, among the must-haves the charcoal steak and pasta and homemade desserts.
The Literary Cafe is open from eight in the morning to one at night, seven days a week, admission and participation in all activities are free.

A savoir faire that has been handed down for five generations. Almost a century of history. These are the credentials with which the ancient tripe of the Marchetti family allows us to enter its world. A universe made of taste and flavors: lampredotto, tripe salad, crushed with boiled meat, the must of the company, which uses meat only of Italian origin and san Savino cold cuts.
The Mercato Centrale Firenze reconnects the city to a space that has remained deserted for many years and gives shape to a vision that is very current and necessary: to repopulate a very important and vital piece of the center of Florence with traditional shops that restore centrality to the artisans of taste. Bread and pastries, fresh fish, fried fish and meatballs, fruit and vegetables, meat and cold cuts, buffalo mozzarella, cheeses, chocolate and ice cream, fresh pasta, wine shop, lampredotto, sandwiches: all the shops are run by artisan traders with a common passion for their profession.
The structure, entirely built in cast iron and glass, was built on the model of the Parisian Halles during the years of the urban renovation of the city, which took place in the second half of the nineteenth century and since then houses a large market with stalls of all kinds.
Fabio Giolli is one of the most famous tripe makers in Florence. His address, Nerbone, inside the Central Market of San Lorenzo (equipped with marble tables in front of the counter) is on all the guides but the quality is remarkable, especially in the service and care in preparing the sandwiches. In addition to the classic lampredotto here is remarkable the boiled, served with new oil and a creamy and true green sauce.
Specialty, of course, the lampredotto. In all its numerous variations: classic version, in the sandwich or on the plate, in zimino, all'uccelletto or cooked in the various recipes suggested by the Tuscan tradition. Still the Florentine tripe, the stern, the sausage and the fried polenta. If you happen to be during the summer, stop for a salad of mixed offal. Is your mouth watering? Perfect. Stop here and get advice from Simone.
