The restaurant Un Canard sous l'Olivier in Ussel is worth a visit. The small stone room with exposed beams is full of charm and creates an intimate and warm atmosphere.
As for the plate, the duck is revisited with originality. As a starter, the duck spring roll, accompanied by a satay sauce, surprises with its balance and the power of its flavors. For the main course, the duck shredded pastilla spiced with orange peel and accompanied by a Ras El Hanout flavoured juice, offers a refined exotic touch that is a pleasant change from the classics of the region.
The service is professional and attentive, even if sometimes a bit long.
In short: a welcoming, creative and generous address, which we recommend to those who want to discover duck in a new light.
It's a restaurant that we tested. The kitchen is well made. I remember a rouelle of veal with tarragon sauce. Delicious.

The restaurant is located on the same square as the Cahors tourist office. Gourmet restaurant in a beautiful setting and plates very well decorated.
Very nice discovery. Tasty and very fragrant cuisine, selection of starters and more or less spicy dishes - vegetarian dish à la carte. Small room, very quiet and smiling service.
A real crush on the Bonnie restaurant in Cahors! The quality-price ratio is excellent with a starter-main-dessert menu at €29, and a menu entirely renewed each month around seasonal products. We appreciate the choice of 3 starters, 3 main courses and 3 desserts, always with a vegetarian option.
The cuisine is tasty, creative and generous, with a focus on vegetables and fruits. Special mention to the perfect egg, sublimated by the sweetness of the corn, a chorizo crumble and a pickled red onion that brings the right touch of pep. The pork loin confit 12 hours is melting, accompanied by a vanilla vitelotte purée and an absolutely delicious full-bodied jus.
On the sweet side, the very salty Breton shortbread with its roasted greek plums and its thin white chocolate film printed with flowers is a dessert that is both refined and gourmet. And for those with a sweet tooth, a daring pre-dessert: orange squash velouté and yoghurt ice cream, a perfect balance between sweetness and acidity.
The wine list is varied and changes to the rhythm of the cuisine, which wonderfully completes the experience. All of this is carried by an impeccable, attentive and smiling service, which makes the moment even more pleasant.
An address to be discovered absolutely, where we can't wait to come back every month to explore the new menu!
A real favorite in Cahors! Chez Suzanne is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful gastronomic restaurants in the city. The exceptional location, just opposite the Pont Valentré, invites you to a pleasant walk after the meal.
The cuisine is of great finesse: full-bodied juices, elegant and generously prepared dishes (no less than seven to eight preparations per dish!). The menu, tightened around two starters, two main courses and a dessert, guarantees freshness and precision with local products. Special mention for the pan-fried foie gras and its artichoke variation, as well as for the lobster ravioli with full-bodied shell jus, with a superb presentation. The shoulder of lamb confit at low temperature is melting as can be, and the fig dessert, available in fresh, roasted, chutney, rosemary ice cream and small hazelnut bouchons, closes the meal in style.
The modern and refined room, with its widely spaced tables, offers a calm atmosphere ideal for conversation. The service is warm, smiling, carried by a young, dynamic team full of projects.
A restaurant that opened recently, but which already has all the makings of a great address. A must-see!
The restaurant managed by chef Julien Poisot offers modern and delicious gourmet cuisine with local products. The restaurant is located in the magnificent setting of the castle of Mercuès, 13th century and an exceptional vineyard. The wine produced at the chateau is served at the table. There is also a winery where you can buy the wine you enjoyed during the meal.
This restaurant 30 minutes is a beautiful discovery. Chef Romain's cuisine is generous and authentic. We highly recommend this restaurant. Attention it is not open every day.

In the lively old town, the majestic Saint-Etienne cathedral, topped by two domes, possesses a beautiful Romanesque portal with carved tympanums. Not far, the public garden Olivier-de-Magny lined by beautiful old houses, the Roaldès mansion, and the numerous narrow shopping lanes make Cahors a very pleasant place, especially since the medieval town is also a gastronomic centre with among others its famous red wine.
A region of sheep and goat breeding, the Regional Nature Park of the Quercy Limestone Plateaux, which extends over 175,717 hectares, is also the realm of dry stone. Cliffs, caves, chasms, valleys and limestone plateaux characterise this magnificent area. The typical and very charming features of this protected park are dry lawns separated by low stone walls, beautiful buildings and delightful little dry-stone shepherds' huts. A heritage that should absolutely be discovered! This unspoiled area is also great for hiking with its 1000 kilometres of path. The sacred town of Rocamadour, the magnificent cliffside village of Saint-Cirq-Lapopie, the famous Pech-Merle cave and the impressive Padirac chasm, are prestigious sites that shouldn't be missed.
It is a listed monument to unesco
From the top of a rock dominating the unspoiled landscapes of the Lot valley, the village of Saint-Cirq-Lapopie is among the most remarkable sites in France. An entirely listed village, Saint-Cirq-Lapopie also appears on the list of the Most Beautiful Villages of France.
Fascinated by the charm of this place, as so many other artists and writers did, the poet André Breton chose to live there. This cliffside village is indeed particularly photogenic, with a harmonious group of beautiful stone houses with brown-tiled roofs and its fortified Gothic church, which stands on the edge of the high rock. Perfect for a stroll, the beautiful flower-filled narrow streets of the village are lined with craft workshops and art galleries. Happy walking!

Moreover, the village of Rocamadour is the second most visited attraction in France after Mont-Saint-Michel! Having climbed 216 stairs of the main staircase leading to the church square, pilgrims and walkers discover the seven sanctuaries of Rocamadour, among which the Notre-Dame chapel, the Saint-Sauveur basilica and the Saint-Michel chapel. Unmissable, the Notre-Dame chapel or miracles chapel contains a statue of the Black Virgin dating from the 12th century. Near this chapel is Saint-Amadour's tomb. The former popes' palace, whose entrance is also situated on the square, is home to the Sacred Art museum and its collection of religious works from the town. At the heart of the old town, near the covered market, the former town hall, or Maison Romane ("Romanesque House"), dates from 1125 and is one of the oldest civil monuments in France! This building has a belfry on top and is currently home to a municipal museum devoted to Prehistory and local popular arts and traditions. All around, picturesque winding streets bordered by old houses, such as the Maison de l'Amour ("House of Love") and the Maison du Roy ("House of the King"), invite you to take a walk around. And the route is all the more pleasant for being dotted with artists' and craftspeople's shops!
Also don't forget to pay a visit to the other side of the bridge over the Aveyron, an ideal spot to admire the charming Monks' Walk and the pretty houses along the riverside.
Lovers of regional produce will be interested to know that every Sunday morning, a market full of colours and flavours is held in the streets of the town!
Sports and outdoor activities fans can indulge their hobby with a wide range of activities in the surrounding countryside: climbing, hiking and mountain biking, canoe-kayaking on the Aveyron, horse-riding, fishing and even paragliding.
