Finding Us- We are not just one hotel, we have a number of properties situated across Whitby's west cliff all within a short walking distance of each other so please take a look at our map below to acquaint yourself with the area and our locations.

Our Properties- we have an extensive number of properties to suit all tastes and budgets, ranging from budget basic double rooms, to mini suites, fully contained holiday cottages and more. We have a fully accessible apartment, we also have a number of rooms that offer seaviews, please be aware that if you are booking via a third party website these types of rooms are all listed separately so please make sure you are booking the correct type of accommodation.

Accessibility- We have 1 fully accessible 2 bedroom apartment that is fully equipped for anyone with mobility issues, please be aware that if you are booking via a third party website these types of rooms are all listed separately so please make sure you are booking the correct type of accommodation for your needs. It is essential that you let our staff know of any accessibility issues before or at the time of your booking, many of our properties have multiple stairways and no access to a lift, if you have not specifically booked an accessible room we cannot guarantee that you will be allocated a ground floor room, if you contact us as soon as possible we will do our best to meet your needs.

Seaviews- We have a number of beautiful rooms that offer a seaview, if you are booking via a third party website please make sure you are booking the seaview room as any other room that does not specify seaview on booking will not have this view.

Checking In- All information will be sent to you via text/email so please ensure that all of your details given are up to date and correct. Shortly before your arrival you will receive a welcome message from us stating the full address of your accommodation and how to enter the property via our digital locks.

We operate a virtual office, which means we do not have a physical office you can visit however we can be easily reached 24/7 via our phone line 01947 821598, you can also contact us via email at discoveryaccommodation@yahoo.co.uk however please note these emails are only monitored mon-fri 9-5.

Paid Private Parking

We have a very limited amount of private parking spaces available at 3 of our building's. These are £15 per day and can be purchased via our website. Please note you cannot use parking scratch cards for these spaces. Once booked and paid for you must print out your permit and display this clearly in your car. The majority of on-street parking in the west cliff area can be covered by parking scratch cards. Parking scratch cards will allow you to park in any of the council run on-street 'w' disc zones for up to 2 days. If you require more than 2 days of parking you must purchase multiple scratch cards to cover your stay. Please be aware you must read through all the signage in the area before parking to make sure you are in the correct location and you must read through the instructions on the card itself to make sure it is filled in and displayed correctly. We cannot be held accountable for any charges you may receive if this is used incorrectly.

Please note that as this is public on street parking these scratch cards do not guarantee you a parking space, all scratch cards purchased are non-refundable and are bought at the guests own risk.

Scratch cards must be purchased at least 24 hours before your arrival date, any purchases after this time cannot be guaranteed and may still be charged for.

Purchased scratch cards will be left in your room for your arrival from 3pm, you will not be able to access your scratch cards before this time.

Please note that some of our properties may have areas outside that accommodate cars, scratch cards are not valid in these areas. Any unauthorised vehicle in these areas will be fined.

By purchasing a parking scratch card using the link below you are agreeing that you have read and are fully aware of all of the above.

Please note during the winter periods, some council run parking in the area is not chargeable. If you chose to purchase parking before your stay and find free parking elsewhere upon arrival we cannot refund the purchased parking.

Our check in is completely digital, therefore there is no physical office for you go to upon arrival to collect keys. Your room information and codes to gain access will be sent to you the day before your arrival. Please make sure that all information you provide us with upon booking is still correct at time of arrival to make the check in process as smooth as possible.

The attached map shows the locations of all our properties, please acquaint yourself with all of our property locations prior to arrival.

It is not possible for us to allow early checking or late check out due to the lock activation process.

To use the digital lock place several fingers firmly across the lock face to wake the lock-up, then enter your code. Please make sure to always press the star key after your code.

We have a number of properties across Whitby's West Cliff, please take a look at our map so that you are aware of our locations before your arrival. On the day of your arrival you will receive the information on your accommodation location. Check your access information for your location.

A full english cooked breakfast is available to all guests at the Greedy Gull cafe, this is located at 11 silver street whitby YO21 3BX. This is a 5 min walk from our Royal and Seabreeze buildings. To book a breakfast please follow the link below. Please ensure you select the correct number of guests that wish to have a breakfast and the correct date and time slot for when you wish to dine. When you arrive at the cafe you will be required to state the name on your booking and your room location and number, please ensure you have these details when you arrive.

Please note if you have already booked via booking. Com at the 'with breakfast' rate then you do not need to add this to your booking as this is already included in the price of your stay.

Pay & Display Car Parks

There are a number of pay and display car parks in the area. Please see the map below showing all of the privately run car parks within walking distance of our properties. Please note we do not run any of these car parks and cannot guarantee guests a space.

Pets are welcome at a cost of £20 each for the duration of the stay when pre-booked. Or a charge of £30 if not pre-booked.

Maximum of 2 pets per room.

Please note when paying for your pet please enter your booking confirmation number in the room number section.

Free wifi in every room. You will find the WiFi is accessed through the T.V. On the home page click on the WiFi icon to reveal the access code.

The Wifi is active while T.V is switched on.

There are a few rooms that currently do not use the above system, in this case the name of the wifi and password will be displayed in the room.

Please see below the list of purchasable extra's for each booking. Please ensure these are purchased at least 24hours before you are due to arrive at the property.

Swimming Pool

Our private swimming pool is available for your own private use. The pool is 12 m long, 1 m deep and 4 m wide and is heated to a temperature of 30 C. Minimum of 2 person and a max of 4. All children under the age of 16 must be supervised by an adult.

Swimming sessions are currently £10 per session. Sessions are 60 mins. You have private use of the pool during your 60 min session, you must vacate the pool within this time.

Towels are provided for use in the facilities. Towels from the accommodation may not be taken into the facilities.

All sessions must be booked at least 24 hours in advance.

Please note the our pool is open seasonally and is usually closed from Nov-April each year.
