If you arrive by Chedde, La Motte and the Maffrey road, you enter the village from below.

The opposite of the arrival by the main road. Be careful this route is narrow by place with slope

Strong to avoid in winter in case of snow or if you do not know.

Attention : for people coming from the East of France, Belgium, Luxembourg or

from Northern Europe, do not arrive by Switzerland, Martigny and the Forclaz Pass in winter until

March month included. Due to frequent snowfall at the Col des Montets (between

Vallorcine and Chamonix, national road 205). It is closed and traffic passes

By a railway tunnel alternately with the train, from which many hours of waiting in

A rather hostile environment in bad weather (snow, wind, cold). If we are stuck there, 2

possible solutions : wait… by calling your host, or turn around to go back down

Tips coming out of the highway :

Most other holidaymakers left the morning of the rental. We need time to restore the apartments.

The apartment will not be available until 3 pm (except special case at the time of booking)

If you arrive in the morning, late morning, the best advice is to stop at the Mountain Store Quechua supermarket in the mountains. This store is new, beautiful architecture because implanted harmoniously and environmentally in the landscape and inside : it is the holidays that begin…

If you are short of materials or equipment, know that you will find everything, at a price absolutely

Reasonable, much cheaper than in resort shops.

But the most interesting is that you will find the Tourist Office of Passy-Plaine Joux.

From the entrance, left in a magical place since in this space you will walk on the map ign of the region !

You will find everything you need for a good holiday (leaflets, maps, various souvenir brochures) and much more…

There is another point of the ot at the cottage of the Plaine Joux resort (during the winter and summer school holidays).

If not your host is the interlocutor with the ot ? Do not hesitate to ask him questions.

For those arriving by bus, your host will give you the documents you are missing.

In Mountain Store you will also find : a cafeteria, a restaurant, a relaxation area, toilets.

Good to know : this beautiful building that has been built since November 2014 contains not only a large sales area, but especially the world center of equipment design.

Mountain, brands Quechua, Wedze and Simond where prototypes will be developed that will go to various countries of the world for manufacturing (Asia especially).

If you want to do your groceries you have the supermarket Super U at Marlioz (Passy) turn left at the roundabout and Inter Market at Domancy, turn right at the roundabout.

In winter, even if the roads are clear, you must have an equipped vehicle, either snow tires ( + - snow chains). Stay safe on snowy roads.

We would like to know your arrival time approximately. We communicate it the day before departure. If you must arrive after 18 hours, report it absolutely.

some guidelines and rules of common sense to make at home

If you want to drink tap water, do not hesitate! The water distributed, controlled and certified by the commune is captured after its exit from the basement of the Desert of Platé at 2500 m altitude behind the barrier of Fiz. It does not contain an additive, has no taste, it is slightly calcareous. Passerands (residents of Passy) use it for baby bottles. This avoids buying water in plastic bottles !!

We try to live permanently in our cottage and after the selective sorting of the garbage we do not throw away our vegetable waste, we make of it compost and for this we have a composter in the garden and a special bucket for the kitchen. We do not obligate our holidaymakers to this ecological gesture but those who wish to lend us we will provide the material with some explanations.

To dispose of waste, selective sorting is mandatory. You will find the sorting containers (plastics, packaging, glass and household waste) at some distance from the bus stop on the pavement facing the chalet. In the apartment you will find 2 or 3 plastic bags for your kitchen trash or more depending on the length of stay.

Pets are not allowed in the apartments and it is forbidden to smoke. If you wish to do so, go out into the garden. On the balcony in summer it can bother the other people up or down.

It is forbidden to use candles or other flaming materials in apartments whose wood material is very present. Raclette and fondue appliances are electrically operated.

The apartments are equipped with a smoke detector for your safety.

The apartments are new or new. They are well insulated and in the winter heating is ensured by electric radiators next generation or with accumulators. The heating is programmed according to 2 functions: in day "comfort" at 21 ° from 6h to 23h- the night "eco" 18 ° from 23h to 6h. In the shower rooms the radiator is in the "comfort" position 24 hours a day. Closing the shutters at night saves energy. The shutters are electric except on the patio doors of the balcony where wooden shutters are to be closed manually. As the apartments are full south you can partially close the wooden shutters in summer to refresh.

Respect the tranquility of everyone by moderating the sound of TV and radio sets especially in the evening and in the morning. The apartments are not designed to make parties noisy and exuberant.

In the large apartment children under 6 years are not allowed to sleep in high beds. A bed in the living room is reserved for them.

There is also a safety fence for small children who sleep in a large bed. To claim.

Housekeeping must be done regularly for stays longer than one week. All the necessities and products are at your disposal in the kitchen or other cupboards.

In the large apartment the floors are covered with parquet laminate (except bathrooms). They should not be washed with water but only with a special brush with a damp micro-fiber fabric. Use the detergent supplied with water and wring the microfiber thoroughly before washing.

The dishwasher must be emptied and clean before leaving, as well as the washing machine.

People who took the "end-of-stay cleaning" option must have arranged the apartment as they found it when they arrived. Sheets must be removed from the beds.

#The kitchen facilities are new or recent.

On the spot you will find operating instructions for household appliances. The induction hob requires a range of suitable containers that you must use and that are on-site.

Pay attention to the fragility of the glass plate which does not appreciate shocks or scratches. Use special brackets provided to cut on laminate worktops to prevent scratches.

Use the extractor hood (for recycling) above the hob to remove odors and preserve the walls.

In the large apartment there is an air extractor above the high elements. It is triggered with presence and operates for about 5 minutes. He is almost silent and will not bother you at night if he sets out. It increases the quality of extraction of the extractor hood and promotes the renewal of air in the apartment.

# Hot water is supplied with 100 liter electric water heaters

  • 1 for the small apartment,
  • 2 in the large apartment. Be careful with the use of water that heats continuously.

This is sufficient to take 2 to 3 successive showers under normal conditions. In the large apartment, the shower room of the 2nd bathroom offers different water outlets which depending on the time used can make you empty the water heater if you stay under water too long. Think of the one who will come after you!

A fondue service and a raclette service are at your disposal (for both apartments).

You must claim them from the owner or register on the entry information chart for the expected day of your use. They must be returned in a state of cleanliness as you found them. Be careful with the raclette service which is a special object mountain (you really scrape the cheese) which heats a lot on the table, put it on a protection (oven-sized fryer for example) and do not let your children touch it.

One of the highest peaks in Europe

Peaking in 4,810 metres, the Mont Blanc mountain range is the perfect place to admire fantastic high mountain landscapes, with its glaciers, its peaks and its snowy summits. In August 1786, the guide Jacques Balmat and the doctor Michel Gabriel Paccard reached the summit of Mont Blanc for the first time. Very popular with skiers, walkers and mountaineering enthusiasts, the Mont-Blanc mountain range appeals to less sporty types too. Many of the mountain range's famous sites are accessible by train or cable car. A cable car departing from Chamonix takes you to the Aiguille du Midi, at an altitude of 3,842 m, in only 20 minutes. From this site, the panoramic view of Mont Blanc and its massif is exceptional.

The Montenvers train takes you to the famous Mer de Glace (Sea of Ice), an impressive 7-km long glacier.

Then, departing from Saint-Gervais-les-Bains, the Mont Blanc tramway, a small train taking passengers up to the Nid d'Aigle (2,372 m), offers spectacular and unforgettable scenery throughout the journey.

You have chosen the Pays du Mont Blanc for your stay or holiday : the occupations and discoveries will seem incommensurable to you…

Whether you are a tourist, a contemplative or a sports enthusiast, you will have plenty to enjoy.

To find a lot of occupations, you will certainly have consulted tourist offices, mountain sites and brochures that are found all over the stations and on the web.

Some examples :

# In winter, at the Plateau d'Assy, you can go for a walk in the snow at Plaine Joux or lower if there is snow, downhill skiing, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing.

You can do all these winter sports in the other resorts, but discover Passy Plaine Joux is enough for a stay… But do not look for the buildings, the black tracks, the gondolas. You will find easy slopes, toboggan runs, buttocks and sunny terraces for the warm wine, a splendid panorama !

It is the family resort, for parents and children who want to share the pleasures of snow together, everything is cheaper than in the big resorts.

You can also discover these other resorts : Chamonix - Combloux - Megève - Cordon Saint-Gervais - Les Houches - Les Contamines Montjoie. All the villages are different, some quieter or more picturesque will make the joy of the hunters of images.

One can visit the village of Plateau d'Assy, discover the church of Notre Dame of All Grace and contemporary sculptures (see with the ot)

One can discover the waterfall of Cœur, descending to Chedde, by the village of Maffrey. Go down in the morning, it is in the sun.

You can also go to Italy (via the tunnel of Mt Blanc) to discover the Valle d'Aosta.

You can also go to Switzerland by the Col des Montets and the French-Swiss border at the Chatelard, be careful not to go there when it is snowing or just after a big fall or if there is a risk of avalanche. (Traffic prohibited at certain times)

You can catch the train, at the station of Saint Gervais-le Fayet -the Mont Blanc Express- is a magnificent train, to go to Martigny in Switzerland ! To discover the valley of Chamonix by train is extraordinary, but to choose a day of fine weather. It is a remarkable excursion, you can go down to lunch in the Buet or Vallorcine, in the small mountain restaurants, to make a nice stroll in the snow and to spend the day or to return when you want… To take the schedules on Internet, to the ot Or at the station of Saint Gervais.

You can also go to the thermal baths of Saint Gervais les Bains (near the train station) for a half day of treatments and thermal baths, after a good day of skiing, snowshoeing, hiking. (Book before to ot or directly)

# In the summer, in Plateau d'Assy, you can go for walks, hiking from the village or from Plaine Joux. The trails are marked out and the difficulties indicated.

You can buy a trail map at lot. (ign or local maps)

If you are used to hiking in the mountains, you can discover the massif of Mont Blanc, in its entirety, the Aravis, above Sallanches, the Fiz massif above you, and so on. You will have to come back several times…

At the resort of Plaine Joux, there are all kinds of activities in summer : paragliding - climbing - horseback riding, pony trekking - summer festivals of the mountains - paragliding, trail rides, The Reserve of Passy - walks to the green lake and the contemplation of the Mont Blanc that never ceases to amaze !

You can, as in winter, visit all the resorts around, take the ski lifts, cogwheel trains and cable cars to climb the mytic summits (Brévent-Aiguille du Midi-Mer de Glace-Le Nid d'Aigle)

You can visit the baroque churches of the villages of Mont Blanc (St Gervais-les Contamines Montjoie-Megève-Combloux-Cordon). There is a thematic trail.

You can visit the Plateau d'Assy, its Church of Our Lady of All Grace, its contemporary sculptures, etc…

You can have fun at parties in the surrounding villages.

You can swim in the lakes of the valley (5 km) The Lakes of Passy (supervised bathing in summer and various activities and restaurants) or Lac des Illettes (10 km) in Sallanches, take advantage to discover nearby, waterfall From Arpenaz to Magland (the most beautiful coming down from the cliffs, visible from the motorway !)

One can go to contemplate that of Chedde, the waterfall of Coeur, descending by the village of Maffray. There is a very refreshing itinerary in summer.

You can go to Switzerland by the Col de la Forclaz and get off on Martigny.

You can go to Italy by the Tunnel du Mont Blanc, discover Aosta and take the Grand Tour by the Great Saint Bernard Pass, return by Switzerland, Martiny, Vallorcine, Chamonix, by day.

If you miss ideas, after all…

for mountain practitioners

Your holidays should be as good as possible, if you come to practice high mountain, a sport "high risk" or "extreme" know how to stay cautious and get in shape gradually…

To all those who are used to the mountain and practice it regularly, or want to enjoy their stay to begin with, a few rules to remember :

  • Never leave alone, or give information to a relative, entourage or on the windscreen of your vehicle.
  • Equip yourself at the height of the exit, hiking, goal.
  • Avoid shoes that are too light. We do not cross a stone or nevés in sneakers !
  • Inquire about the risks involved (weather-avalanches-state of the terrain- neve in early summer)
  • Prepare your itinerary before leaving.
  • Carry in your backpack, groceries, water, warm waterproof clothing, an ign card. And or a gps with batteries.
  • Do not believe that the mobile phone will save you in case of danger, there are quite a few zones inaccessible to the networks or remote from the transmitters.
  • Do not surpass yourself in a dream exploit and call the mountain rescue for not much : exhaustion, loss of orientation, the falling night…
  • The rescuers are not there for the small bobos, the amateurs, only for the real accidents ! Finally know that if you call, they will not let you down and give you the best advice. But avoid this…

In winter, the snowshoeing is not practiced on all the footpaths that appear on the maps. The snow covers the ground and hides the dangers of the relief. Follow the marked itineraries or go with a mountain guide if you want to do more.

Finally, if you go several days in the mountains, sleep in a refuge or other, tell your landlord so that he does not worry about not seeing you.

If possible, give your itinerary or purpose.

Check-out possible from 08:00 AM to 10:00 AM

Housework must be done regularly for stays longer than one week (cleaning floors, kitchen, cooking appliances, bathroom, toilet, washbasin, shower)

The apartment must be returned in the same condition found at the start. If this is not the case, the household rate will be removed from the deposit returned from the premises.

To help you, let yourself go calmly, it is possible to ask at the time of booking the option of paying "end-of-stay cleaning" so you will have peace of mind.

This section is detailed above.

Nearest airports:
  • (17.6 mi, 43 min)
  • (57 mi, 1h08)
  • (57 mi, 1h05)
  • (128 mi, 2h05)
Nearest railway stations:
  • (3.6 mi, 11 min)
  • (5.1 mi, 17 min)
  • (6.7 mi, 16 min)
The day before departure,

it is best to advise the owner of the approximate time of your departure in the slice above.

At the agreed time,

the owner will join you in the apartment which must be tidy, emptied of most of the luggage.

A visit of the apartment will be made room by room with appliances, storage space, bedding.

If you have broken or damaged an object, do not worry, talk to the renter (plate, glass or other broken) but do not buy back. The renter will take care of it. If you do not say anything, it does not help anyone. If you have broken, damaged a device or valuable item, the deposit will be reduced by its financial estimate. It is therefore important that you make sure of a "holiday resort" treatment with your insurance company.

If you have reserved the paying option 'linen', the dirty linen will have to be grouped together and will be checked as well.

It takes a minimum of 20 minutes for departure formalities.

If you want to leave before 8 am,

The owner will visit you the evening before but no visit to the apartment will be made.

The deposit check will be returned by mail the day after your departure or will be refunded by the booking provider.
